It is a specific denomination because of the particular characteristics of the places that overlook the artificial lake around the Tiber’s course between Orvieto, Baschi and Montecchio.
“Rosso”: from Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Pinot Nero, Sangiovese (min.70%) grapes; the remaining 30% is made up of Aleatico, Barbera, Cabernet franc, Canaiolo, Cesanese, Ciliegiolo, Colorino, Dolcetto and Montepulciano grapes: 12,5°; aged minimum 9 months up to 8-9 years.
“Cabernet Sauvignon”: from Cabernet Sauvignon (85-100%) grapes. “Merlot”: from Merlot (85-100%) grapes.
The wine is ruby red in colour with garnet reflections when it ages; vinous aroma, a sapid, elegant flavour, and harmonic, suited to accompany both red and white meat dishes and game.
