Monaldo Monaldeschi town of Orvieto noble family, find “The Palazzone Rocca Ripesena with one built in 1299 by Cardinal Theodoric, at the first Jubilee, as ospitalis for pilgrims. In 1591 we entered the building and land in the “Inventory of goods of the factory ‘Opera del Duomo of Orvieto. Today Palazzone is being “restored” to return to how he wants to offer hospitality to its historical tradition (a farmhouse will be ready soon).
In the late 60’s the Dubini family bought the farm Palazzone starting to renovate the houses and planted vineyards. On clay soils of sedimentary origin and with an exciting view on the cliff of Orvieto, were planted 25 hectares of vineyards to produce wines of great complexity and character. Since the eighties, under the guidance of John and Louis Dubin, small winemaking and bottling have allowed us to take the necessary experience to arrive in 1988 with the construction of the new winery, making wine across the production and marketing organization, making “Palazzone” one of the most significant among the wines of Umbria.
