Monrubio winery, located in a beautiful natural setting rich with centuries of traditional agricultural and wine, was founded in 1957 by the will of many farmers in the area of Castel Viscardo willing to come together to produce quality wines. In this area love for the land and the chemical and physical characteristics of the land allow growers to obtain superior quality grapes, thanks to optimal exposure of the vines to the south.
Post in a central position with respect to production areas and the famous Orvieto Classico DOC, Cantina Monrubio has always sought to enhance and improve its winemaking heritage, such as selection of clones with low productivity, that will produce quality grapes and wines character than from the early 90s.
With its products, the cooperative has become known and appreciated throughout Italy for the excellent value for money.
Today relies on the injection of more than 350 producer members of the High Orvieto.
WINES AND GRAPES
The study and research on traditional varieties of Orvieto, but also on innovative varieties for the area, such as Chardonnay, Sauvignon, or Cabernet, Pinot Noir or Merlot for red wines, has enabled the winery to direct the best productions in the vineyards of members (700 hectares of vineyards, of which 500 to 200 to DOC and IGT) in order to achieve a number of wines that have been able to meet consumer tastes closer. It ‘s the case of Salceto a fruity Orvieto Classico high quality, Soana Orvieto Classico Superiore from a careful selection of grapes, or the Field House, a pure Grechetto result from careful selection, among the reds, the stand Palaia , a blend of Merlot, Pinot and Cabernet, fermented and aged in barrels, and Nociano, pure Cabernet aged only 80 days in wood.
